It was in mid-June 2016 when we were contacted to appraise the condition of the koi pond at NSRCC Changi Singapore. The water was infested with alage causing much stress to the fishes. Besides the size of the pond (16m x 17m) with a huge planter in the middle, shallow depth of water, constant exposure to strong sunlight and inherent filtration system design adds to the challenges in managing this koi pond. In the past, there was a constant need for remedial with algaecides.
